CNN’s twitter

Dear Marketers,

Blogging for yourself, or for your business, just changed. Forget about laboring over lengthy blog entries; try microblogging. Short one or two line entries on sites like Twitter or Jaiku allow you to update your audience quickly—and introduce new opportunities for conversation.

From a different perspective, your audience may also not want to sign into a blog to leave feedback or an intelligently constructed comment. Microblogging lets them interact quickly and easily.

It’s also a great way to send quick alerts, which is one of the reasons Stephen Colbert , John Edwards, CNN, JetBlue, ESPN and more are using it.

So What?
Microblogging creates more opportunities to engage with your audience.

Client as Content

Dear media executives,

Your advertisers are experts. They can help your audience find the best places to buy a car, the best legal advice or tell them what to do in a dental emergency. And your advertisers are willing to pay to give this advice.

Who is doing it well?

See: Clear Channel’s KIISFM “Ask the Experts” page. KIISFM is selling banner ads to promote their clients “ask the experts” pages on their site. The content is includes text, podcasts and video.

See: Ventura County Star to find experts on topics ranging from cruise consulting to wine specialists to pet care or cosmetology.

See: TwinCities.com to post questions for real estate experts, sewing information or dry cleaning tips.

So What?
It’s new revenue for you and content for your audience.
